When learning British English, I recommend trying to learn a more neutral accent, rather than one with a stronger regional accent, although with globalisation, the more regional accents might be reducing somewhat, although are still clearly there in some places. The reason for that, is that other people from different countries may understand you more and also if your English style is more familiar to them, they might also understand you better.
